Concrete Mesh

We’re sure to have your orders covered when it comes to Mesh.
No job too big, no job too small.

Why choose Oriem concrete mesh?

With three locations across Sydney metro, we're sure to have your orders covered when it comes to Mesh. All sizes are stocked in all locations, there’s no order we couldn't handle. No job too big, no job too small.

All our mesh products are manufactured from 500MPa Class L ribbed wire which means it has low ductility. We use quality ribbed wires to ensure superior bonding with the concrete and reduce cracks in concrete.

Reinforcing mesh uses

Their most common application includes general-purpose mesh to increase strength for concrete including:

  • Industrial and commercial ground slabs

  • Thin concrete elements such as floor slabs and walls where more strength is required in one direction than the other

  • Concrete footings

FAQs

  • We predominantly deliver mesh across the states of the Australian easter seaboard (NSW, QLD & VIC). We deliver from our Sydney locations.

  • Sizing specifications vary depending on the project as not all concrete slabs require reinforcement.

However, if your permit or building ordinances require reinforcement for your concrete slab, then mesh is a good option.

To find out what size steel mesh you require be sure to get in touch with one of our expert staff they will be best positioned to guide you through the process of purchasing the right mesh for your job.

  • Wire mesh is used to reinforce concrete, to improve its durability and to prevent crack formation during temperature variability.

When fresh concrete is poured, it sets around wire mesh and grips onto the mesh, which prevents its internal movement in the horizontal plane.

The concrete and mesh expand and contract to the same degree, thus preventing or limiting crack formation.

Concrete is weak under flexural load, whereas steel is strong under flexural load. So, including steel mesh improves a slabs flexural load strength.

  • Overall steel mesh is only used horizontally, whereas rebar can be used at any angle. So by design, steel mesh is the optimal option for any horizontal slabs you may be working on.

However, not all slabs require steel mesh. This may be due to time constraints, and this is where fiber mesh could be a good alternative.

Fiber mesh can be easier to work with, but generally costs more per square meter.

Fiber mesh is typically used in sidewalks, patios, and driveways. Rather than being laid down prior to the pour, this mesh is distributed throughout the wet concrete.
